Press Conference: AI-Based Solutions and Digital Technologies to Revolutionise Stroke Care in Europe
UMBRELLA was officially presented at a press conference this week in Barcelona, coinciding with the launch of the project on 1 October. Umbrella is funded by the Innovative Health Initiative and brings together over 20 public and private partners under the leadership of Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) and Siemens Healthineers.
The project aims to revolutionise stroke care across Europe by improving diagnosis, treatment, and prevention through the use of AI-based solutions and advanced digital technologies.
The press conference took place on 2 October at the Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus and featured talks from:

With €27 million in funding and a five-year timeline, UMBRELLA aims to impact over 1 million new stroke patients and 10 million survivors by improving diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
